Gender dysphoria is the distress caused by a
mismatch between a person’s experienced gender and their assigned gender at
birth. It leads to significant distress, especially during adolescencei due to
the development of secondary sexual characteristic(1). Clinical visits for
gender dysphoria have increased, particularly among these assigned female at
birth(8,9). Obsessive-compulsive Disorder (OCD) involves unwanted intrusive
thoughts and repetitive behaviors. Its prevalence in children and adolescents
is estimated at 0.25-4%(11-13). In this chapter we examined OCD in a female
adolescent case with gender dysphoria.
