Geriatrik Hastalarda Kronik Mezenterik İskemi
Anahtar Kelimeler
Chronic mesenteric ischemia (CMI) is a condition
characterized by swelling, post-meal pain, fear of eating, and weight loss. It
is primarily caused by stenosis, and narrowing of blood vessels, resulting from
atherosclerosis. Diagnosing CMI can be challenging due to its specific symptoms
and lack of definitive tests. Diagnosis typically relies on clinical evaluation
of splanchnic vessel stenosis, radiological findings, and the exclusion of
other gastrointestinal disorders. Once diagnosed, treatment options include
medical management, endovascular stenting, and surgical intervention. Effective
care for CMI patients necessitates a multidisciplinary approach, particularly
in the elderly population.
