The Bones
Anahtar Kelimeler
Bones are structures that make up the skeletal system of the human body and have many important functions. In addition to tasks such as nutrient storage, housing bone marrow, and providing support to soft tissues, bones also facilitate the production of red and white blood cells, store minerals, and provide structural support and movement. They also form protective shells for internal organs and provide attachment points for muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Bone tissue is composed of organic and inorganic substances. Organic substances provide elasticity to bones, while inorganic salts provide hardness. Bones are actively built by specialized bone cells called osteoblasts and osteoclasts. Bones are covered by a membrane called periosteum, which protects them from external influences. Bones consist of two parts: compact bone, which is a hard tissue, and spongy bone, which is a porous tissue. There are a total of 206 bones in the human body, which are classified into two groups: the axial skeleton, which includes skull bones and the spine, and the appendicular skeleton, which includes bones in the limbs and shoulder and pelvic girdles. Bones are known as important structures that provide strength and mobility to the human body.(AI)
