Geriatri Ve Alt Gastrointestinal Sistem Motilitesi
Anahtar Kelimeler
The elderly population increase significantly all
over the world. With the increase elderly population, the number of admissions
to hospitals with gastrointestinal system (GIS) complaints is also increasing.
With aging, GI motility problems develop due to reasons such as neuron loss,
dietary incompatibility, inactivity, comorbidities, traumas, etc. The most
common symptoms include lower gastrointestinal motility problems such as
constipation and fecal incontinence. In the geriatric age group, slow colon transit,
decreased fiber intake, and colonic segment contractions cause constipation. It
is possible to diagnose many lower GI motility disorders with diagnostic
methods.
