In order to obtain accurate results from surgical modeling research on laboratory animals, basic surgical techniques must be learned well and sufficient experience must be obtained. Surgical procedures should be performed by paying attention to asepsis-antisepsis conditions and choosing appropriate anesthetic drugs, as in humans. In this section, detailed information about the preparations to be made before and during the surgical procedures and the care to be applied after the surgery are explained.
