The Psychosocial Dimension Of Pain
Anahtar Kelimeler
In this section, the psychosocial dimension of pain is addressed. Pain is a complex experience in which physical, psychological, and social factors interact with each other. A multidimensional approach is required to understand the experience of pain. The biopsychosocial approach to pain refers to the interaction between physiological, psychological, and social factors in the emergence and response to pain. Recent research has shown that the success of pain management is significantly influenced by psychosocial factors. Factors such as job dissatisfaction, low job control, inadequate social support, depression, and interpersonal conflict have been found to be associated with low back pain. Psychosocial factors that influence pain also affect individual variability. Some psychosocial characteristics place individuals at a higher risk group for transitioning from acute to chronic pain, while others may impact the success of pain management. Considering the psychosocial dimension of pain indicates the need for a comprehensive strategy in pain management.(AI)
