Design is a multidimensional concept that encompasses idea, planning, organization, production and control steps. In this context, design needs a planned management. The management function is far away from the caricatured “boss dominating the worker” and, on the contrary, the issue of management is much more difficult than being an employee who controls a certain flow of work. For instance, being a qualified employee requires going through a number of serious processes, producing in a disciplined manner in a defined field, and so on. However, being a manager requires mastering all these situations and having an upper view and vision that plans the whole process. A manager who lacks the ability to manage a harmonious process of cooperation between employees will be far away from achieving sustainable development. Design management is no different from all these processes. Where is “woman” in these processes? The answer to this question should be given without hesitation: at every step. The woman is at the point of “woman is human, we are human beings” as in the saying of the great master Neşet Ertaş. Developing technologies and new concepts in the perspective of design management once again reveal the necessity of women’s aesthetics. In this section, the concepts of women, design and management are tried to be evaluated on the axis of current technologies and Istanbul Blockchain Women was chosen as the sample. An interview was conducted with Bahar Özden YILDIRIM, one of the content coordinators of the association. Istanbul Blockchain Women is a non-governmental organization that works to increase the employment of women in the blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies sector and to create a gender-neutral awareness in this field. Istanbul Blockchain Women, which conducts discussions on how the increasing presence of women in blockchain technology affects the sector, produces educational seminars, projects and research studies, also serves as a network community that includes professionals from the sector (Istanbul Blockchain Woman, 2024). Bahar Özden YILDIRIM, one of the content coordinators of the association, states that designers have one of the most important roles in the blockchain industry. According to Yıldırım, the real revolution that blockchain technology will create will occur when it can be integrated into daily life. One of the ways to achieve this will be the interpretation of the informatics of this high-potential technology for the target audience by designers in the context of user experience. Yıldırım states that usability, easy comprehensibility and how these systems can be integrated into lives are important for the development and success of decentralized applications that can appeal to large segments of the society, and thinks that giving the end user the spark of an idea and gaining their loyalty can be a process that can be facilitated by employing curious designers. As the technological era, which the film industry often portrays as the ‘future’, approaches day by day, blockchain technology appears as the most suitable tool to develop in this direction. It is exciting that blockchain technology, which is already being used in many areas such as health, economy, supply chain, storage systems, etc., has high potential and has not yet reached this potential. The decentralized world offered by blockchain technology has been unlocked and its construction continues by developers. However, the fact that this decentralized world can be a gender-neutral ecosystem seems to be a way to go in order to make globalization more meaningful. Although there are qualified female developers, speakers, educators, etc. in the blockchain field, it is noteworthy that the female population in the sector is quite small. Therefore, not only engineers, but also lawyers, sociologists, content producers, designers, artists, business development experts are needed. Since NFTs can be integrated with many fields of art as a certification system offered by blockchain technology, independent women artists can gain a place in the field by offering their digital artworks to the NFT market. As it is still a developing field, there is also a need for lawyers with an interest in this field in order to take the right steps towards the completion of the regulations. At this point, a technology that is conducive to interdisciplinary cooperation should also include women from different fields.
