Autoimmune liver diseases are an essential part in the
hepatology outpatient clinic practice. One of those autoimmune liver disease is
“Autoimmune Hepatitis”. Especially the geriatric population can present itself
with this disorder. Due to the fact that the geriatric patient setting is
special both in the diagnosis and treatment, we wanted to summarize the
essential parts in the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of autoimmune
hepatitis in this specific age group.
