Teratogenic effects of ionizing radiation is well
known in pregnancy for a long time. Therefore there have been concerns about
its use during pregnancy. Recently authorities reported that in certain medical
indications, radiological examinations which can be used carefully.
Ultrasonography (US) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) have been reported to
be safe during pregnancy compared to imaging methods which are including
ionizing radiation. In adition ionizing radiation and labeled nuclear isotopes
like technetium 99m(Tc-99m) can be used in diagnostic tests carefully. In many
studies are reported that there is no evidence of fetal or maternal
