Assessing potentially benign lesions with EUS
(Endoscopic Ultrasound) in pregnant individuals is a suitable option for
postpartum evaluation. This is because anesthesia will be required, making it a
more precise approach to apply EUS to lesions exhibiting malignant criteria,
considering the appropriate assessment and timing. It is also evident that
performing the procedure without anesthesia will be more challenging with EUS,
which has a thickness similar to that of a duodenoscope, compared to gastroscopy.
Taking this cost-benefit relationship into consideration, it would be a correct
approach to evaluate it with a coordinated team using anesthesia.
