Diabetes Mellitus (DM) imposes a
significant societal burden, encompassing both economic and emotional costs,

strategies are of paramount importance. In DM research, experimental animal
models are extensively utilized as a fundamental preclinical step, and this
section provides a detailed, up-to-date exploration of these models based on a
review of the current literature.
