World Health Organization describes the stroke as rapidly developing clinical signs of disturbance of cerebral function, lasting more than 24 hours or leading to death, with no apparent cause other than that of vascular origin. Stroke is the most common cause of death in the world after heart disease and cancer and also the most important cause of disability in the adult population. The vast majority of stroke survivors have disorders that lead to limitations in basic daily living activities. Ergotherapy is a complementary medical rehabilitation element intended for the realization of significant and goal-directed activities throughout the individual’s life.
