Percutaneous image-guided biopsy is the mainstay of diagnosis in the investigation of symptomatic and screen detected breast abnormalities. It is more accessible, less invasive, and less expensive than surgical biopsy. The selection of a guidance method is made according to the visibility and accessibility of the lesion, the efficacy of the method. In this article, current needle biopsies and needle localization procedures in imaging guidance are discussed.
